Abstract

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), formerly known as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), represents the progressive inflammatory phenotype of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). The recent nomenclature shift from NAFLD/NASH to MASLD/MASH reflects a fundamental reconceptualization of this condition not merely as a hepatic disorder, but as a systemic manifestation of metabolic dysregulation
