This article analyzes the impact of the influenza virus on the cardiovascular system and its role in the development of acute cardiovascular complications. The infection induces systemic inflammation, endothelial dysfunction, and prothrombotic changes, thereby increasing the risk of acute coronary syndrome, myocarditis, cardiac rhythm disturbances, and decompensation of chronic heart failure. During seasonal influenza epidemics, timely prevention and cardiovascular risk stratification are considered key measures for reducing mortality and the frequency of severe complications
